The world’s best software provider for cash management 2026: Intellect Design Arena

Intellect Design Arena is bringing together cash visibility, liquidity management, receivables and payments to help banks deliver a more connected corporate treasury service. Its approach to cash management gives corporates the tools to understand and deploy their liquidity, while helping banks assess the balances they hold and compete more effectively for corporate deposits.

That approach is translating into new business. In 2025, Intellect reported double-digit growth in cash management revenues, winning new licences and client relationships, including leading global banks.

A consolidated cash management proposition

At the centre of its offering is Corporate Treasury eXchange (CTX), supported by Intellect’s Corporate Banking eXchange (CBX) digital channel. Its proposition begins with a deceptively difficult task – giving a multinational treasurer one picture of cash across banks, entities, countries and currencies. The M-AWARE framework combines account balances and transactions with information from virtual accounts, investments, cards and loans, while the channel also allows users to organise that information around their own corporate structures.

Intellect has moved beyond the consolidated dashboard. Predictive balance forecasting uses historic and current data to project short-term positions, while cash concentration, notional pooling and intercompany lending tools give treasury teams ways to act on those projections. Investment capabilities then allow surplus cash to be deployed, rather than remaining idle simply because its availability was unclear. For large groups with decentralised operations, the value lies in turning fragmented information into usable liquidity.

By combining cash forecasting, automated investment and deposit intelligence, Intellect helps treasurers deploy cash and banks attract and retain operational balances

Banks benefit from the same intelligence. Intellect’s Liability Insight capabilities assess deposit stability and growth, while its Deposit Placement Elasticity Expert models how corporate balances might respond to interest rate changes. That can help banks distinguish valuable operational balances from rate-sensitive deposits and make more informed pricing decisions. In a market where deposit margins are under pressure, cash management technology has become as much about protecting funding quality as delivering convenient banking services.

Scale is an important part of Intellect’s case. Its liquidity management system supports an estimated 23% of multinational cross-border sweeps in major currencies, while processing trillions of dollars in cash movements and automated investments annually. That reach reflects an infrastructure business built to handle the volumes and complexity demanded by international banks.

From visibility to execution

In 2025, Intellect strengthened the connections between visibility and execution. Virtual Account Inbound Payment Allocation applies rules to assign receipts to sub-accounts and improve reconciliation. Its Virtual Account Payments Orchestrator brings payment execution and accounting together, while its payments capabilities now extend across more than 40 markets and over 100 payment methods.

Artificial intelligence is being applied to this workflow with a similarly practical focus. Through Purple Fabric, Intellect has introduced specialised digital experts that let bank users query live and historical liquidity data in natural language, investigate portfolio behaviour and analyse deposit sensitivity. It is not just adding a conversational interface. The architecture draws on each bank’s knowledge, policies and rules, with explainability, audit trails and human oversight built into AI-assisted decisions. Those controls are particularly relevant when recommendations affect cash positions or the pricing of deposits.

Equally important is how banks adopt the technology. Intellect’s event-driven, API-first eMACH.ai architecture allows institutions to add or update liquidity, account, payments and channel capabilities without replacing the underlying core in one disruptive programme. The cash and liquidity engines expose 106 enterprise APIs and 50 microservices, giving banks scope to modernise progressively while maintaining existing infrastructure.

Intellect connects corporate liquidity management with banks’ deposit strategy. By combining cash forecasting, automated investment and deposit intelligence, it helps treasurers deploy cash and banks attract and retain operational balances. And on top of that, banks can adopt these capabilities without replacing existing infrastructure, strengthening the treasury services that underpin corporate relationships.
