Hedge fund activism: The real face of active investing?



Jerome Lande (JL): Assistant portfolio manager for MMI Investments, overseeing research trading and activism. Before joining MMI he was at DE Shaw.

Kevin Richardson (KR): Founder of Prides Capital, a micro and small-cap concentrated manager that preaches ownership investing. He formerly worked at Blum Capital, Tudor Investments and Fidelity

Clay Lifflander (CL): Co-founder and portfolio manager of MMI Investments. He was the economic development commissioner for New York City for mayor Rudy Giuliani before founding MMI in 1996.

Matt Feshbach (MF): Chairman of MLF Investments, a $200 million ownership-investment fund. He was formerly a short seller, starting the first short-only hedge fund in 1982 which he grew to $1 billion by 1990.

David Marcus (DM): Head of M2 Capital, which focuses exclusively on Europe, looking at small and mid-cap companies going through significant strategic change. Before joining M2, he managed a long/short fund called Marcstone Capital.

Barry Cronin (BC): Partner at Taylor Investment Advisers, an SEC-registered investment adviser and hedge fund adviser in Greenwich, Connecticut.
