Turkey debate: A good time for Turkish business

Tolga Egemen (TE) is executive vice-president of Garanti Bank. He graduated from the Middle East Technical University Department of Mechanical Engineering and began his banking career in 1992. He joined Garanti as head of the cash management unit in 1996. He was appointed as an executive vice-president in 2000 and has been responsible for corporate banking, financial institutions, cash management and foreign branches and offices since 2004. He is also a board member of Garanti Securities.
Murat Ulug (MU) was appointed as the CFO of TAV Airports in 2006. He is also a member of the corporate governance committee and has been a member of the board of directors of Havas Ground Handling since 2007. He graduated from Istanbul Technical University, Department of Electronic and Communication Engineering in 1992. He received his MBA degree from the joint programme of Istanbul Bilgi University and Manchester Business School in 2003. After 11 years of banking experience in ABN Amro, HSBC and Garanti Bank, Ulug served as the finance coordinator at Akfen Holding before joining TAV Airports.
Bülent Beydüz (BB) is group finance controller at Erdemir. He began his career in Deloitte-Ankara in 1987 as an auditor. He worked for Touche & Ross London between 1992 and 1994. He served several private and public sector organizations, banks and financial institutions in Deloitte, Turkey from 1994 to 2008. Beydüz left Deloitte in June 2008 and founded Probitas Consulting to serve leading Turkish companies in financial advisory and management consulting areas. He was appointed as Erdemir Group chief financial officer in January 2010. Beydüz is highly experienced in privatization and restructuring projects, as well as designing and developing accounting systems. He specializes in the iron and steel, construction, energy and telecommunication sectors.
Murat Erden (ME) is head of treasury and risk management at Turkcell. He received his BA degree in economics from Bogazici University, Turkey, in 1992. After graduating from San Diego State University with an MBA in finance, he started his career at the treasury and capital markets department of Bankers Trust, Turkey. Following the Deutsche Bank-Bankers Trust merger, he continued to work for global markets Turkey as assistant treasurer until 2000. He joined Turkcell as head of treasury and is responsible for the group’s treasury and risk management activities. He has represented Turkcell as a board member at selected group companies since July 2006.
