Middle East real estate debate: Middle East real estate holds its own in unsteady global markets

Kar Tung Quek (KTQ) is the CFO of Nakheel PJSC and chief executive of Nakheel Funds Management. As CFO of Nakheel he was instrumental in bringing to the global market the largest ever pre-IPO sukuk. Before joining Nakheel in April 2006, he was active in the Singapore property securitization and Reit market, bringing to market one of the largest property securitizations (the Raffles City Complex) and also one of the largest Reit IPOs (the Suntec City Complex), where he was also its CEO up to June 2005.

Ronald S. Barrott (RB) is chief executive at Aldar Properties. He has overall responsibility for Aldar, which involves engineering and controlling its growth in the UAE and expansion into international markets. In addition, he overseas all Aldar’s projects development and related businesses. He is a building engineer by profession, with more than 38 years’ experience in construction and development.

Ian Ohan (IO) is head of investment transactions, Mena, at Jones Lang LaSalle. He is responsible for providing investment transaction advice and deal structuring to regional and international investors and vendors.
