BNY’s partnership with Mizuho Bank in 2024 offered a practical solution to a persistent challenge in transaction banking: enabling financial institutions to expand their trade finance reach without the cost or complexity of building new infrastructure or maintaining dormant correspondent relationships.
The collaboration centred on the integration of BNY’s trade network access service (TNAS) into Mizuho’s trade finance offering. This allowed Mizuho to tap into BNY’s network of more than 4,000 active relationship management applications (RMAs), significantly broadening its ability to support clients in markets where it previously lacked direct coverage.
