Intelligence over infrastructure: What corporates want from cash management providers

Intelligence, not infrastructure, will define the next generation of cash management competition – that is the clear message from respondents to Euromoney’s 2025 cash management survey. As the 2026 survey gets under way, last year’s results already point to growing demand for smarter virtual accounts and cards, payables automation and more refined connectivity.

Companies are increasingly keen on virtual account solutions to address challenges around reconciliation, visibility, account rationalisation and in-house bank structures.

Cash Management Survey 2026

Euromoney’s Cash Management Survey 2026 is now open, capturing corporate perspectives on bank performance across cash management, payments and liquidity. For any question on participation, please reach out to our team.

This surge in interest reflects a fundamental shift in how treasury teams think about liquidity management and cash-flow visibility. Rather than fragmenting balances across jurisdictions, treasurers are consolidating structures while retaining visibility at transaction level.

“They are becoming critical because they remove friction from reconciliation,” suggests Pamela Ralli, head of product for automated finance at FIS.
