Best bank: Bank of Bahamas International |
In March 2008, Bank of Bahamas International became the first retail bank from the Bahamas to have a physical presence in Miami. The new office hopes to expedite trade and help Bahamians who shop and seek medical care and education in the US state.
Opening its doors in Florida was the latest in a series of firsts by the bank. In the past 12 months, Bank of Bahamas International became the first bank in the Bahamas to install i-flex and imaging technology, paving the way for real-time settlement of foreign instruments – a process that previously took 40 days.
