Tunisian banking is largely dominated by state-owned banks. However, there is one private and Tunisian bank that claims on its website that it is “dedicated to the service of its clients and to the development of the national economy”. Amen Bank claims that its three aims are to innovate, to serve and to make successful. It covers all of Tunisia and has both retail and corporate customers. Amen Bank has a long history, having been set up in 1880, when it was known as Crédit Foncier d’Algérie et de Tunisie.
