Having started out as a leading player in the UK sterling bond market, Barclays Capital went on to develop a leading regional franchise in Europe and is now a key player across the whole of the global debt markets. That it is part of the bond bulge bracket, particularly in Europe – is indisputable given its market share in international bond underwriting. In Dealogic’s global DCM league table, out of the European banks only Deutsche Bank is better placed.
