Aval Bank and Privatbank dominate the banking sector in the Ukraine, and are of similar sizes. However, Aval is slightly bigger in terms of assets, number of accounts for legal entities and size of credit-investment portfolio. It also has a better reputation, both among competitors and customers.
Competitors have become annoyed by some of Privatbank’s tactics. A recent survey also found that Ukrainians thought Aval was the most trustworthy bank.
