This is the saying passed down from the Russian crisis. Three years after the crisis, trust in the banking system has not advanced much and the ratio of problem loans to the overall credit portfolio of the banking system still stands at 20%. The National Bank of Ukraine reckons that 60% of the problem loans of the seven biggest banks were made to support different government programmes.
