Methodology:
The ranking was compiled in conjunction with IBCA Limited. All information was supplied by IBCA from banks’ consolidated annual reports for the years 1995 and 1996.
Only those institutions whose primary business is taking deposits are eligible for inclusion. Figures are presented, where possible, in consolidated form, including data from non-banking activites. Banks which are owned by other financial institutions are not listed separately, but are consolidated in the parent’s figures.
