While traditionally trading volumes fall in August due to summer holidays, last month’s market turbulence saw a year-on-year average daily volumes increase by 46%, to $186 billion, though they were still lower than the $202 billion recorded in August 2008. Broker Tec, the bond trading platform owned by of ICAP, saw average daily volumes increase year-on-year by of 24%.
