Thaker’s departure follows that of David Gu, global head of rates and currencies, who retired from the firm in June, and has since been hired by Capula Investment Management, a fixed income hedge fund as co-chief investment officer, starting later this year, Financial News reported late that month. Thaker had been regarded as Gu’s No. 2 at the bank. A BAML spokesperson declined to comment on the departure. Thaker could not be contacted for comment.

Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s global head of structured rates and currencies trading, Neh Thaker, has left the firm, according to two people familiar with the matter.
