People moves: HSBC makes senior Middle East hire

UK bank appoints new head of global banking and markets, MENA

The flurry of activity at HSBC continues apace with the bank appointing a new head of global banking and markets for the Middle East and North Africa region.

Mohammad Al Tuwaijri joins the bank from JP Morgan, where he was most recently managing director and head of Saudi Arabia. Prior to that, he spent 12 years as treasurer of Saudi Arabia British Bank, HSBC’s joint venture partner in the Kingdom.

Al Tuwaijri, who will be based in Dubai, will report to Simon Cooper, chief executive of HSBC MENA, and to Samir Assaf and Robin Phillips, heads of global markets and global banking respectively in London.
