Best bank: Santander
Santander combined strong financial performance with a far-reaching transformation of its operating model to be named Mexico’s best bank in 2025. Over the review period, the bank delivered significant net income growth alongside its double-digit (and market beating) lending growth. The bank continued its expansion across mortgages, automotive lending and payroll accounts.
This performance has been underpinned by a decisive shift in technology and customer delivery. Santander completed the largest core banking migration undertaken by a systemically important bank in Mexico, moving fully to a cloud-based infrastructure.
