HSBC has built its Middle Eastern cash management proposition around a challenge few international banks can solve, namely connecting companies’ regional and global treasury operations across markets with markedly different requirements. Rather than trying to displace domestic lenders from every local operating account, HSBC focuses on making clients’ entire regional and international treasury work as one.
That distinction explains its win. HSBC has combined an extensive cross-border network with locally adapted liquidity products, closer integration with corporate systems and the advisory capabilities needed to redesign treasury operations.
