BSE wins Euromoney’s innovation of the year for its customer-centric relaunch and rapid development of its Sensex futures and options contracts franchise, the derivatives business built around BSE’s benchmark stock market index.
The reimagining of what would become a cornerstone of its equity derivatives business began with the important step of fully understanding market participants’ needs. This was achieved through an extensive Voice of Customer programme launched in early 2023, involving more than 350 engagements with brokers, institutions, regulators and market participants, as well as direct discussions with approximately 400 brokers.
Drawing on these market insights, BSE sought to create a product that reflected how clients wanted to trade while integrating it seamlessly into existing broker and trading workflows.
