Standard Bank’s equity capital markets franchise is built on the ability to combine deep local market expertise with international distribution, enabling it to execute complex transactions across multiple African markets and market cycles. As equity issuance recovered strongly during 2025, that combination positioned the bank at the centre of many of the continent’s defining transactions, from record-breaking South African block trades and landmark IPOs to Nigeria’s bank recapitalisation programme.
The strength of the franchise lay not only in headline league table positions but also in the breadth of its execution.
