Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management (PWM) in Asia has built an alternatives franchise that looks and feels like an institutional platform repurposed for families, rather than a standard private bank fund shelf.
It uses the full weight of Goldman’s global alternatives business – across private equity, private credit, real assets, hedge funds and co‑investments – but filters and packages that capability through a ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW)‑focused model. Ronald Lee, head of PWM in Asia-Pacific, stresses that performance metrics are a byproduct of a deeper ambition: to be the first name UHNW clients recommend to each other, with alternatives playing a central role in that proposition.
