A web guide to financial movers

If you opened up the Financial Times on Thursday October 26 and turned to the people section, you might have read that Michael Buckley is chief executive designate set to replace Tom Mulcahy at the head of Allied Irish Bank when Mulcahy retires in June. Buckley has been running AIB's Polish operations. In September he told Euromoney about the increasing competition among foreign bank entrants and AIB's hopes to turn its Polish branches quickly to profitability.

But you would already have known about the move if you had visited Peoplemoves.com, Euromoney Institutional Investor PLC's new online database and news service, the evening before.

Covering all Financial markets, the site is a combination of a unique database of worldwide Financial contacts, including company names, addresses, websites and senior contacts, and a daily news service. The database uses a team of over 40 researchers updating information and building biographical data with links to articles and interviews on people listed in the database. The daily news service collates 200 sources to provide news of position changes, hirings, Wrings and retirements. The site lists over 30 news stories each day, and as it expands, aims to have 70 a day soon.
