Elliott, who will be based in London, will report to Tony Hall, global head of foreign-exchange derivatives in Zurich. He will also work closely with Chris Purves, head of FX e-trading, on matters concerning UBS’s options business strategy as the new execution and clearing rules are defined and implemented over the next 18-months. Elliot left Bank of America Merrill Lynch in June, where he had been head of electronic foreign-exchange options trading since early 2010. He had previously worked at Credit Suisse from 2005-to-2010 where he worked on developing the bank’s proprietary trading platform, Merlin.
