UniCredit’s transaction banking efforts in Central and Eastern Europe over the review period have centred on scaling digital payments and trade platforms while deepening support for SMEs – the region’s growth engine.
In payments, the bank’s UC PayFX – an end-to-end international payments service offering – was expanded away from its core markets.
“We went live this year with our PayFX service in Romania, the Czech Republic and Slovakia,” says Alessandro Soru, head of transaction and payments process excellence.
