FX round-up: ...While Wax wows them

Andy Abrahams, you’re rubbish...

Showing a good grasp of FX – she’s been striped up on transactions on a regular basis – Ruby Wax proved a real hit hosting Euromoney’s forex poll awards dinner (photos). Noticing the high number of alpha males present, Wax’s comments to some of the women who collected gongs included: “So are you traders? Oh, you’re accessories,” and: “Her husband couldn’t make it.” Wax seems to have talked her way to better execution, though. Citibank promised her a genuine market rate. But its efforts were surpassed by the splendid Peter Lewis from HSBC. No, not that one, but the ever-suave gentleman now in his 41st year at the bank. He clocked that Ruby banks at HSBC and guaranteed her a good rate.
