This week, FX technology provider Integral Development Corp. launched FX Inside Alpha. The press release came with the usual hyperbole: “The most complete solution to take on the challenges of FX algo trading.”
At first sight this appears merely to be a restatement of Integral’s existing modular architecture under an Alpha umbrella name: the FX Grid electronic communications network providing the liquidity; the FX Inside execution management system (EMS); and TrueFX the data engine.
Matthias Beckmann at Integral agreed that FX Inside Alpha pulls together existing offerings. However, he pointed out that the real new element was that the EMS was now customizable in Microsoft programming languages Visual Basic.net and C#.
This will enable users to write their own algorithmic add-ins and deploy them within Integral’s integrated development environment. To avoid latency issues, the new feature is implemented in Integral’s On Demand Hosting, co-located in its data centres.
