In a Euromoney poll published in September, Deutsche Bank came top in all three categories for Euro-MTNs: arrangers, private placements, and dealers. It was an impressive performance – all the more so considering that as recently as the beginning of 1997, Deutsche barely had an MTN business to speak of.
Much of the credit for the bank’s rapid emergence must go to Tiina Lee, who joined from Lehman Brothers in May 1997.
