Lower oil prices are hurting Bahrain’s economic and fiscal position, as elsewhere in the region – and the weakening of its claims to regional financial-centre status has diminished an important element of its economic diversity.
Nevertheless, Bahrain’s banks are healthy, and in Ahli United Bank (which is based in Bahrain) it has an institution of regional spread.
