But as one goes out, two come in and Bank of America has announced the appointment of two economists for its Asian operations. Tao Wang joins as head of economics and strategy for Greater China and Hitoshi Asaoka comes on board as senior economist and strategist in Japan.
Wang was previously at BP and she has also had a stint at the International Monetary Fund. She will be based in Beijing and report to Robert Sinche, the bank’s head of strategy - global rates, currencies and commodities in New York.
Asaoka joins from Mitsubishi Research Institute in Tokyo, where he spent eight years as senior economist in the Research Center for Policy and Economy.
