CF round up: Morgan Stanley makes key hire to bolster M&A

Morgan Stanley has made its most senior investment banking hire since John Mack took over as chief executive last year and since the departure of one of its star M&A bankers, vice-chairman Joe Perella, one of the key defectors during the turmoil at the bank in the first half of last year.

Robert Kindler, global head of mergers and acquisitions at JPMorgan, will become vice-chairman of investment banking at Morgan Stanley, once his gardening leave is up in three months’ time, and will focus on senior client relationships and work closely with management at Morgan Stanley on new business prospects for the bank.
