A bearable journey
It is not just American businessmen and tourists filling the seats of Thai Airways' new non-stop route between Bangkok and New York.
In May, 3,000 teddy bears found their may onto the inaugural flight from New York to Bangkok as part of Operation Teddy Bear, in aid of children affected by the Asian tsunami. Collected by American students from New Jersey, the stuffed animals were presented to kids from Southern Thailand at a "Breakfast with Teddy Bears" event held in Bangkok.
The bears were collected by children from New Jersey and donated to Thai students of the Border Police Schools of Thailand. They represent goodwill and compassion from the hearts of American children to youngsters in Thailand.
