New US CFOs in paper, funerals and broadband

Three new CFOs have been appointed in the US, at broadband-provider Verilink, paper-producer Bowater and funeral-operator Stewart Enterprises.

The new CFO of Stewart Enterprises is Thomas Kitchen, who moves from his position as CFO of Avondale Industries to the Jefferson, Louisiana company. Stewart Enterprises is the third largest provider of products and services in the death care industry in the United States, currently owning and operating 241 funeral homes and 147 cemeteries.

At Bowater in Greenville, South Carolina, William G Harvey has been named as acting CFO while the company decides on a permanent replacement for the position. The company is a producer of newsprint and coated groundwood papers.

And lastly, Timothy Anderson has moved from his position as CFO of Carrier Access Corporation to become the new top financial officer at Verilink, which is one of the US's leading providers of broadband-access solution.
