BNP Paribas adds to Spanish corporate finance team

Julio Babecki has been appointed the director for corporate finance in Madrid for BNP Paribas, reporting to Ramiro Mato, CEO and head of corporate finance for BNP Paribas' Spanish business. Babecki joins from Merrill Lynch where he acted as co-head of middle market M&A for EMEA and also brings experience from Morgan Stanley where he worked on the M&A and debt capital markets.

Working on deals such as the $15 billion acquisition and equity and bond financing of Repsol YPF, Babecki brings a strong pedigree in Spanish corporate finance. He also worked on the ?600 million ($740 million) Mercapital private equity fundraising, the $4.5 billion equity offering for Endesa and the Amadeus IPO worth ?2.5 billion.

Mato adds: ?I am sure that his wide local and international experience will form an important contribution to the corporate finance area and will significantly help the consolidation of BNP Paribas as one of the key players in corporate finance in the Spanish market.?
