Euromoney polled treasurers and financial officers at 3,200 non-financial corporates. We received a total of 1,061 valid replies (2002:415 replies) from 36 countries. 367 (2002:318 replies) of these answered questions on international cash management services. 827 (2002:275 replies) answered questions relating to service provision in their home country only. Respondents in both cases were asked to indicate:
* Which three banks they currently used for their cash management services
* Which three banks provided the best cash management services overall
* Rating of services provided by their lead cash manager on a sliding scale of 1 = excellent; 2 = very good; 3 = good; 4 = satisfactory; 5 = poor. The average score for each category was then converted into a percentage for each bank and category.
Scores were calculated on an unweighted 4:3:2 basis for first, second and third place respectively. Weighted scores were also calculated applying the following factors (in brackets):
1. Operating revenue greater than $100bn (7); 2. Operating revenue of $25bn to $99.99bn (6); 3. Operating revenue of $10bn to $24.99bn (5); 4. Operating revenue of $5bn to $9.99bn (4); 5. Operating revenue of $2.5bn to $4.99bn (3); 6. Operating revenue of $1bn to $2.49bn
