The Beatles with their guru: divine inspiration for
custody client service?

There may only be two surviving Beatles, following the death of George Harrison, but their influence continues to stretch throughout the world, even into financial services.

Follow the sun, one of Sir Paul McCartney’s earlier songs, is also the name of JPMorgan Investor Services’ new 24-hour client support system.

“One day, you’ll look, to see I’ve gone, for tomorrow may rain so I’ll follow the sun,” sang Sir Paul in 1964.

“Follow the sun gives investor services clients continuous phone support through a rotating help desk that takes advantage of JPMorgan’s extensive regional service centre network in Dallas, Sydney, Tokyo, Singapore, Hong Kong and London,” sings JPMorgan 27 years later.

No competition in the songwriting stakes then but JPMorgan says it is the only bank to offer such support across every time zone, around the clock.

“And now the time has come and so my love I must go,” the moptop crooned in his chorus.

“Follow the sun callers conducting business after-hours in the US, for instance, may be supported by a customer service representative in Singapore,” goes JPMorgan in its version.
