The firm has hired Ian Scott as its sales director in Europe and the Middle East, based in London. Scott will be responsible for client relationship development amongst banks, hedge funds and other FX market participants, and will report to John Farrell, global head of sales. Prior to joining FXecosystem, Scott held senior roles in e-commerce and FX technology divisions at primarily Canadian institutions, including Royal Bank of Canada and TD Bank, as well as at the inter dealer broker Tullett Prebon.
Scott’s hire is likely to be the first of a series of recruitments for FXecosystem, which was founded in June 2010 by Dr Jock Percy and Jon Vollemaere. The firm has set about creating an electronic network solution that it claims provides faster on boarding, lower latency and a cheaper connectivity alternative than existing connectivity providers.
Catherine Hardiman, who was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of FXecosystem in September, said in the statement that further strategic hires are in the pipeline as the company expands its global footprint in the coming months.
