Newedge appoints Andrew Roper as director for FX sales

Newedge, the multi-asset broker and clearer, has hired Andrew Roper as director on FX sales, the company said in a statement.

Roper, based in London, will be responsible for managing cross-asset sales, supporting the existing client base and introducing related products to institutional clients. He will report to Michael Bailey, head of FX at Newedge. Roper had most recently been director of FX institutional sales at UniCredit, a position he assumed in September 2009. Prior to that, he held senior sales roles at State Street Global Markets and ANZ in London.

Newedge, headquartered in Paris, was formed by Société Générale and Crédit Agricole CIB in 2008, and provides a range of clearing and execution services covering options and futures contracts for money-market instruments, bonds, FX, equities and commodities on OTC markets.
