Insight Investment appoints head of currency

Insight Investments, the asset management subsidiary of BNY Mellon, has appointed a new head of currency.

Paul Lambert will replace Dale Thomas, who departed in late May. Lambert, the former currency head at UBS Global Asset Management, will join Insight in September. He will report to Adrian Grey, head of fixed income.

Alongside Max Wahl, Lambert will have responsibility for the £283 million Dublin-domiciled Absolute Insight currency fund.

Lambert began his career at the Bank of England in 1990. In 1992, he moved to the sell side, joining UBS as a currency strategist before joining Citi as head of European FX strategy in 1998. In 2000, he moved to the buy side as head of currency at Deutsche Asset Management. Before returning to UBS, Lambert was head of macro strategies at Polar Capital.

Launched by HBOS in 2002, specialist asset manager Insight passed from HBOS to Lloyds Banking Group before being acquired by BNY Mellon in 2009 for £235 million.
