FX brokerage sales team ups sticks to competitors

A group of London-based FX sales people from a prominent brokerage house recently moved to work for a close competitor.

ED&F Man reportedly hired Bob Race from Marex Spectron’s sales team in July. It also recently hired Darryl Bear and Joe Marston to work on the company’s FX sales team. Both Bear and Marston were formerly employed at Marex as FX salesmen, but neither of them joined ED&F Man directly from Marex.

In March, Marex hired a number of senior FX personnel into its currencies-trading team in anticipation of future growth in the FX space.

However, earlier this month, Jamie Rose – another former FX team member at Marex – left the firm to join Xenfin Capital.

The new ED&F Man salesmen join Antony Sidney-Woollett at the company, who joined Man Group in February. Previously, Sidney-Woollett was head of FX at MF Global, the US brokerage collapsed at the end of last year.
