HSBC hires Cavaglione from Goldman for French corporate sales role

HSBC, the number 2 FX bank with French corporate customers, has hired Lia Cavaglione from Goldman Sachs to join its French corporate sales team, a HSBC spokesperson has confirmed.

Cavaglione, who is due to start next month, will be based in Paris, and will report to Eric Popelin, head of European Corporate FX sales. In this year’s FX survey, HSBC leapt two places to second in terms of its share of the French corporate market, registering a 11.7% share, up from 8.8% in 2010. Société Générale continued to maintain its leading market share of its home market, with 24%.
