FX people moves: New Strain in Morgan Stanley

We reported them back in December, and now the Nick Strain rumours turn out to be true (RBS no longer feels the strain). Morgan Stanley announced on Monday that Strain joins their Asian office in Hong Kong this week as managing director in fixed income and head of institutional sales in FXEM.

He previously held a similar position in RBS’s Asia office in Singapore.

Strain will report to Yuki Hashimoto, head of FXEM sales in Asia, who says the hire is all part of Morgan Stanley’s growth strategy: “We are committed to growing our foreign exchange footprint in Asia and Nick is an important senior hire in our ongoing expansion plan.”
