FX people moves: Citi strengthens strategy

Citi has strengthened its CitiFX G10 strategy team with two new hires, Valentin Marinov in London and Greg Anderson in New York.

Marinov has held similar roles with Société Générale (fleetingly, see Société Générale strengthens research) and Dresdner Bank.

Anderson joins Citi as a senior currency strategist in New York. He also comes from Société Générale.

Both report to Steve Englander, Citi’s New York-based head of G10 FX strategy. Englander says of the new hires: “Marinov has extensive experience in producing instantaneous analysis, as well as substantive longer-term research. His views are widely respected and he is already making an impact with our clients. Anderson is very well known for his work on options-based strategies, systematic trading rules and positioning. His hire brings further expertise to the strategy team.”

Marinov and Anderson follow Osamu Takashima, who joined Citi in Tokyo in April as a senior currency strategist. Takashima has been ranked by Euromoney Japan as the top FX analyst for the past five years.
