It’s been three weeks since we reported a hiring by CIBC but normal service has now been resumed. The Canadian bank has acquired former JPMorgan energy strategist Katherine Spector.
Spector will join CIBC’s macro strategy team in New York next week as executive director and commodities strategist; she is still listed as a member of the board of the Energy Forum, a not-for-profit educational organization.
Spector started her banking career at Deutsche New York but prior to that she was editor of oil market intelligence at the Energy Intelligence. At CIBC she will report to Joanna Zapior, who leads the macro strategy team from Toronto, and locally to Eric Price, co-head of capital markets trading in New York.
This hiring follows another in CIBC’s macro strategy group only last month (FX people moves: Strategy and solutions for CIBC)
