FX people moves: New Barclays hires still outweighed by loses

Barclays Capital has appointed Jeff Young as a managing director and head of North America FX research.

Young, formerly an FX portfolio manager and chief economist at Platinum Grove Asset Management, is based in New York. He reports to Piero Ghezzi, MD and head of economics, emerging markets and FX research, based in London.

Gregg Chow, MD and head of FX distribution Americas, says of Young: “We are committed to providing our clients with the best service and products. Jeff’s expertise in the global FX markets will significantly enhance our FX strategy research.”

Young joins the latest in a line of Barclays hires, including: Mike Testa, Marlena Demenus, David Greenwald, Kevin Tam, Rick Sears, James White and David Weiss.

But that list is short compared to its losses. From memory: David Madaras, Guy Dickinson, Sean Jeon, Yuri Polyakov, David Woo, Chris Purves, Mark Meredith, Parwinder Sekhon, Liz Walker, Richard Longmore, Michelle Meyer, Manny Monahogious, Ben Gibson, Frank Cahill, Guido Arslan, Paul Brandley, Lincoln Shepherd, John Bradley and Oxana Saunders.
