Having landed Chris Eagle last week, CIBC has added Peter Snasdell (ex-NewEdge) and Helen Thomas (ex-Merrill and Skanska Enskilda) to the hedge fund sales team.
Since Harry Culham took over as global head of fixed income and currencies two years ago, the bank has taken advantage of its attractive credit rating to recruit senior staff in FX trading and sales.
One would assume that this might have led to better poll results last year, but CIBC dropped further down in their overall market share to 54th place, a three place slip from 2008. Perhaps 2010 is the year it starts to claw back.
