Egypt’s best sustainable transaction banking deal 2025: National Bank of Egypt

Giza Zoo and Orman Garden redevelopment.

In 2024, National Bank of Egypt structured a landmark financing deal that enabled the sustainable redevelopment of two of Egypt’s most historic public spaces.

The bank played a central role in supporting the transformation of the Giza Zoo and Orman Garden – two culturally significant and biodiverse sites – into modern conservation hubs aligned with international standards. The E£832 million ($17.6 million) facility, arranged in partnership with an international development fund, was designed to meet the project’s sustainability objectives and ensure long-term financial viability.
