Unicredit’s global head of FX, leaves bank

The global head of foreign exchange at Unicredit, has left the firm, according to two people familiar with the situation. Unicredit wasn’t immediately available for comment.

Crawford was appointed global head of FX in June 2009, based in London, having previously been head of interest rates and foreign exchange for North America. Before UniCredit, Crawford was global co-head of FX trading at Merrill Lynch based in New York between 2004 and 2006 and prior to that worked at Morgan Stanley between 1997 and 2004.


Unicredit improved its standing in the FX markets in this year’s Euromoney FX survey, rising six places to 20th with a market share of 0.56%. It outperformed in the non-market making bank sector, where it rose to 15th position from 24th, a 183% year-on-year increase, which made it the most improved bank in the client sector.
