BNPP gets the Munchies

When an email dropped into our inbox from BNP Paribas talking about something called the Marylebone Project we were hoping it might be the name of a five-piece band with BNPP’s head of primary markets, Martin Egan, as its lead.

Alas, on further reading, it turns out to be nothing of the sort.

It’s actually a new and noble charity supporting homeless women in London that the French bank backs.

One of TMP’s social enterprise initiatives is something called Munch, which teaches women to bake and sell cakes to cafes and city offices at lunchtimes.

BNPP was fortunate to have the Munch bunch come round to their office one lunchtime last month laden with cakes to sell and boy, did some of them fly.

Apparently the first batch of chocolate brownies sold out in the first hour of trading, swiftly followed by the lemon yogurt cake, gluten free coconut square and the pear and ginger cake.

They say you can tell a lot about a person from the type of cake they like. If that’s so, Egan is the polar opposite of a gluten-free coconut square.
