Africa debate: Africa’s future is within reach

Bolaji Balogun (BB) is CEO at Chapel Hill Denham. Chapel Hill Denham has advised on the largest M&A and DCM transactions by value in Nigeria over the past decade.

Veronica Kalema (VK) is head of Africa credit strategy, global markets, at Nedbank. She joined Nedbank in November 2011 from Fitch Ratings where she worked for a decade, building up the firm’s African sovereign ratings coverage.

Paul-Harry Aithnard (PHA) is group head, securities and asset management, ex-Nigeria at Ecobank. He has been group head of research since 2008 and group head of capital markets and asset management at the pan-African lender since September 2012.

Robert Hersov (RH) is founder and chairman of Invest Africa. He currently serves as managing partner of Sapinda UK, is chairman of the VisaJet Advisory Board, chairman of Adoreum, and chairman and founding partner of Invest Africa.

Funmi Akinluyi (FA) is investment director, sub-Saharan Africa, at Silk Invest. She is the investment director for Africa and lead portfolio manager for Silk Africa Lion Fund. Before joining the fund, she worked as a portfolio manager with Stanbic IBTC.

Angus Downie (AD) is head of economic research at Ecobank. He joined Ecobank in January 2011 from the Institute of International Finance where he worked from 2006 in Washington, DC. Before this, he worked as an economist at the African Development Bank and at the Economist Intelligence Unit.

Stuart Culverhouse (SC) is chief economist and global head of research at Exotix. He has 15 years’ experience covering emerging markets. His specific coverage at Exotix includes sub-Sahara Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean.
