Africa’s falling stars

This year, Euromoney went on the hunt for Africa’s rising stars: A new generation of financiers driving the continent’s economic, financial and capital markets development and taking the region to the next level. See what you think of our choices.

One of our contacts nominated the CEO of a production company. They have created successful dramas, soap operas and talk shows for a local audience – hugely passionate about television, not so much about the capital markets.

It was no easy task to whittle down the candidates to 20. But while scrutinizing the nominations, some nominees didn’t seem to quite get the point – which fortunately made the task easier.

Then there was another who nominated someone taking a career break and unable to comment on their next potential endeavour. The unemployed don’t count either.

And then, of course, there was the modest lot that decided the only person they saw fit to nominate was themselves.

As you can imagine, none of these have made the final list. Better luck next time, perhaps?
