Five reasons why Namibia’s 10-year Eurobond could strengthen:



  • Namibia is considered to have the least political risk of any Sub-Saharan African country by economists participating in Euromoney’s country risk survey.
  • Oil fields containing up to 11 billion barrels of crude are to come on line in next five years.
  • Namibia received a superior country risk assessment from economists to South Africa and Botswana, both of which have a higher credit rating.
  • It has low government debt of just 16% of GDP.
